Hardbound Notebook, on the other hand, are usually called pocket notebooks. Hardbound Notebook or pocket notebooks are meant to be stored or stashed into small spaces such as pockets or purses, and then, taken out once there is an important thing or idea to jot down. Pocket notebooks typically have a measurement and dimensions of 3.5 inches by 5.5 inches.

There are also one other form of the notepad, which is somewhat more sleek in style and are meant to be placed just beside telephones for notes or on the desks of office personnel and staff. Theseform of spiral notebook are also meant to serve as stationery or as a way to hold and more easily issue prescription for doctors. The dimensions for this kind of notepad vary a lot, with the most common being 4.25 inches by 5.5 inches, 4 inches by 6 inches, 3.5 inches by 8.5 inches, 5.5 inches by 8.5 inches, 5 inches by 7 inches, and 8.5 inches by 11 inches.
